![]() ![]() Those are the men and women we honor here now. A memory they never thought would come again. Who fought for a dream, fought for a memory. We are wise to remember not just the lives that were lost when the High King of Stormwind strode across Tirisfal and brought an end to Sylvanas’ vile rule, but also the lives of those who remained in Lordaeron. The daring and brave farmers of the Hillsbrad Fields, and the cunning and powerful mages of the Kirin Tor.īefore us, here today, there were sacrifices. There were the Paladins of the Silver Hand, and there was the Argent Dawn. There was the Stormpike League and the Dun Garok mountaineers. That our allies, the magnificent and wise Kaldorei, would be driven from their home by the witch we sought to unseat and then join us on the field of battle, was a tragedy that still remains unfathomable in my mind, and the minds of my friends.īefore all of these events, however, there was Southshore. Before that, the thought of an Agent of Death could serve the interests of Lordaeron’s reclamation was impossible to believe. That a Gilnean could have led the League of Lordaeron would have shocked many of us years ago. In truth, that is a microcosm of the story that led to Lordaeron’s reclamation. What was once a coalition of honorbound Knights fighting the Scourge after Arthas’ return to Lordaeron has blossomed into an order that welcomes all races, and all creeds, including my esteemed High Commander, whose positively Gilnean brilliance has led this order to heights I never dreamed of. I am lucky - nay, honored - to have served the League of Lordaeron as its High Commander, Major, and now, a Captain. While we no doubt will be reflecting on the greatness of the men and women whose lives were sacrificed to bring an end to Sylvanas’ vile reign over Lordaeron, it is important, I think to look back further. Regardless of which category you may fall under, I have the distinct pleasure of welcoming you all here tonight, and being the first to address you at this special memorial. Perhaps I also see faces that may not even have known of Lordaeron’s greatness before its fall. Though we have experienced loss - to varying degrees - and may feel it within our hearts still, we ask the Light to strengthen us, restore us, and inspire us with Its love - with Its peace of mind and protection, so that as we journey onwards, we can extend the Light’s good graces to ourselves and to others in need.Īs I stand before you all tonight, my heart is warmed. We ask that It protects those, too, that are not with us now so that their tasks remain unhindered and true. We ask that the Light continues to guide and to protect each and every one of us gathered here today. The Memorial began with a prayer by Gwenyth Dukes:Īs we gather here in such a bittersweet time, we thank the Light now especially for Its ability to create fellowship and bring family together. On August 25, 38 L.C., at the sound of eight bells in the evening, Niklos Adamant called for the members Lordaeron and the Alliance to gather at the Scarlet Monastery Cathedral to pay their respects for the lives lost during the Siege of Lordaeron. Each war becomes much more difficult to bear for those who remain, both soldiers and civilians alike. Brave men and women stand up to fight against those who threaten their home. ![]()
